Thanksgiving Break

Wow, I was so excited about Thanksgiving break, and now it's over. Last week was packed to the max and we never stopped for a minute.

What all did we do? Well...

Monday, we had an ultrasound to check for downs and all those other things... the baby looked perfect! Heartbeat was at 174 and the doctor was pretty confident it's a GIRL (80% sure). So we were thrilled about that! I wish we had recorded Mili though when we told her the news... she's already a little dramatic, but she was SO SO SO excited. She kept saying, "I told you so, I told you so." And I even got an "in your face mom" one time. lol... Needless to say, she is completely pumped about a little sister.

Tuesday, I spent the day with one of my best friends, Chelsey. We had the BEST afternoon... shopping and eating, two of our favorite things :) But really her company is what I enjoyed the most. It has been too long where just us two- no husbands, or kids, or anyone really- were able to just spend time together. And she helped me decorate my house, and though I shouldn't probably say it... my house looks adorable with all it's Christmas decorations.

Wednesday-Saturday, Stephen's family came into town and we had a great time. Always a lot of laughing going on when we are all together. We, of course, ate a lot. My mom cooked and we all ate dinner at my mom's house. One thing I am thankful for is my family, and Stephen's as well. Everyone thoroughly enjoys each other and it's just a blessings that not only are we close to both sides, they are close to each other. We also did a little "Black Friday" shopping... my husband was happy with everything I bought, but not too pumped about how much I spent. Let's just say I should be expecting personal Thank You cards in the mail from certain stores. However, in my defense, EVERYTHING I bought was on sale and I couldn't afford NOT to buy it... That's my story and I am sticking to it!!

Saturday, after family had left, Stephen and I enjoyed some quiet time alone. Being on the go is so much fun, and even though I was around my husband every second of the week, there is just something special about those nights out all alone. I LOVE them! So we went and had sushi (I am feeling great and food is finally sounds so good), picked up some firewood and made a fire at the house, and snuggled up together to watch a movie. A very relaxing, but sweet night. I love him so much, and love making memories with him!

Sunday, great day at church.... I can't say enough about how much I love and appreciate my Sunday School girls. They are just a true blessing to my life and I enjoy not only teaching them, but growing with them!!

On another note, Sunday was a GREAT day for Houston teams! Texans and Rockets won!! Hopefully the Rockets will do it again tonight!

Well, my conference period is almost over and I am about to leave school for the day!! I have the best man in the world at home waiting on me, so I will be leaving right at 4 today! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!!

(3 more weeks and I am off for Christmas break for 2 weeks) :)

Bye Bye Blackberry!

Stephen and I went Christmas shopping yesterday and to much of my surprise, I got an early Christmas present... well, we both did. I have never kept a phone for a long time, but Stephen gave me my Blackberry for my birthday two years ago and I was in desperate need for a new phone/toy (or I just really wanted one lol). So... we both got Sprint's new htc Evo. It's so much fun, although, all I want to do is play on it. Thank you baby!

Also, thank you Thanksgiving break for being next week! I am so ready to spend my time relaxing with you!!!

It's the little things I am thankful for...

For example, singing praise and worship songs in the car with my husband. Both of us belting them out with everything inside of us, and harmonizing to each other.

I love loving the Lord with my husband.

Fun fun fun

I LOVE THE ROCKETS!

My brother this year has season tickets, so right away he asked what games we wanted. Stephen told him a few, Sean said that would be ok, and also asked if we wanted to go to the 2nd home game too, just for fun. Soooo.... Sean, Daniel, Stephen and I all loaded up last Wednesday and went to the game. We were so excited. The whole school day dragged on, because all I could think about was the game. (We won't talk about their record, even though we have a GREAT team this year)

We get to the game, my brother takes us to his seats... they are pretty good. And Stephen and I are ready to start some hardcore cheering. Before we started walking down my brother said, "Hey yall come with me real quick". Ready to get settled in our seats, we gave him a hard time, but he insisted. So... we did.... all the way back down the elevator and half way around the arena we followed. He lead the way, handed four tickets to the man at the club level seats and walked us right in. We were confused and wondering what we were doing in there. We walked through where the food was and started down the stairs, right to the court, where Sean told us we would be watching the game! Like little kids on Christmas morning, we started FREAKING out. We had a wonderful time and I have never loved my brother more! As much as I love taking pictures, I kept forgetting because I was so wrapped up into the game.

Big News!!!

So, we decided a couple months ago to get off birth control and yes, you guessed it... that very month got PREGNANT! We are so excited!! We feel so blessed without having any problems getting pregnant and the timing is prefect, my due date is the week after we get out of school! No 6 weeks with a baby.... a WHOLE Summer :) Thank you Lord!

Yesterday was a big day, we had one ultrasound at 5 weeks... and then another one yesterday. I have never heard a sweeter sound than this baby's heartbeat! The baby had a strong heartbeat and looked wonderful, so my doctor said, it looked like a peanut to me. Stephen and I both just cried and cried as we listened.

I am excited about our growing family. I have the most, caring, loving husband. He is so unbelievably good to me, I don't deserve him, but glad God gave him to me anyways. Mili, is the most precious little girl, she is growing up so fast and I am looking forward to watching her be a wonderful big sister. Although, she is desperately wanting a girl because, "boys are annoying... they get on my last nerve," she told us last week. haha. And I am already so in love with this baby, I can't hardly stand it.

God is so good, so good to me.

Worship is a lifestyle

Our pastor at church has being doing a series called "Wired for Worship". It's been fantastic, convicting, but wonderful. Worship is not just corporate. It's not just songs, preaching, or praying. It's personal. It's living my life for the Lord. Often times christians chose to live lukewarm, casual, comfortable. I am so guilty of this. So shallow. I refuse to give God what's left over, fit Him in whenever it's convenient for me. For all who HE IS and for ALL that HE has DONE. My day to day, should be focused on Him, and worshiping Him. He is so worthy.

One of my favorite songs... and my hearts cry...

Empty Hands held high
Such Small sacrifice
If not joined with my life
I sing in vain tonight

May the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to you
Chorus:
Let my lifesong sing to You
Let my lifesong sing to You
I want to sign your name
to the end of this day
Knowing that my heart was true
Let my lifesong sing to You

LORD, I give my life
A Living sacrifice
To reach a world in need
To be your hands and feet

So may the words I say
And the things I do
Make my lifesong sing
Bring a smile to You

Chorus

Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Let my lifesong sing to You

Pumpkins

Last weekend we had the gang over, our friends and some of Mili's friends, to carve pumpkins! We had a great time. This year (unlike last year), the dads did most of the carving, so this mama enjoyed that! We carved two, scary face and a cat of course, because that's what sister wants to be for Halloween. Enjoy the pics!!

OH... and pics will come soon of my newly decorated front porch. This weekend I decorated SO CUTE to bring in Fall!! I just love it.

If you know my husband...

... you know he LOVES to sing! All the time. Every day. Right now I am loving it because all he has been singing to me is a new song that just came out. It's sweet, had to share :)

Just The Way You Are

Oh, her eyes, her eyes, make the stars look like they're not shining
Her hair, her hair, falls perfectly without her trying
She's so beautiful, and I tell her every day
Yeah, I know, I know, when I compliment her she won't believe me
And it's so, it's so, sad to think that she don't see what I see
But every time she asks me do I look ok, I say
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are
Her lips, her lips, I could kiss them all day if she let me
Her laugh, her laugh, she hates but I think it's so sexy
She's so beautiful, and I tell her every day
Oh, you know, you know, you know, I'd never ask you to change
If perfect's what you're searching for then just stay the same
So, don't even bother asking if you look ok
You know I'll say
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are
The way you are, the way you are
Girl you're amazing, just the way you are
When I see your face, there's not a thing that I would change
Because you're amazing, just the way you are
And when you smile, the whole world stops and stares for a while
Because girl you're amazing, just the way you are.

Pretty sweet, huh? I sure do love him!

Slumber party!!!

This past Friday was a BLAST!

After Deer Park beat La Porte (of course I had to get that in) at the football game, my Sunday school class came over to hang out and spend the night! We had a great time... played games, ate, laughed, laughed and laughed some more! Around 4:30am 3 girls piled each into our 3 beds and all on our couches and finally crashed. My age showed a little bit, but I stuck it out and we all had a wonderful time.

I love each of these girls so much (and the others that were out of town or unable to come). Not only are they absolutely beautiful on the outside, but they have the sweetest hearts. My prayer is that they will fall in love with Jesus more and more each day, to know Him more and make Him known. That's the ultimate goal. To be obedient to God's will, allow our life's to be use for God's glory, and be thankful he chooses to use us. I pray that I can be half a blessing to these girls, that they have already been to me!

Enjoy these funny pics... Oh and if you are wondering where the boys were (my husband, the youth director, and some of the youth boys), they were at the movies watching The Devil. You can tell which gender is going to have to be the spiritual leaders :) Just Kidding!

Change is everywhere...

First, Mili, that little toddler I fell in love with is growing up entirely too fast, she started Kindergarten today. And I LOVE my job, but I have finally found a negative part of it and it's that I will probably always miss my kid's first day of school because I am having to prepare my own classroom to welcome students. However, I am sure that didn't matter to Mili all that much, she was one excited little girl about starting school. I know that I am partial, but she REALLY is the smartest little five year old in the world. I am VERY proud of her, I am excited for her to get to go to school every day so she can bless others (teachers and kids), the way she blesses our family.

Furthermore, a lot of changes at church are taking place. Stephen and I have been praying for awhile that God would use us as a couple in the church. I have grown up in the church, lived and loved the youth department, so I am excited to get to serve in it. Stephen has been singing in the praise team and loves being involved with the church. He has the biggest heart for the Lord and for the youth, so I am excited to watch him teach in the youth as well. God is really doing some cool things in our life and I am thankful that He wants to use us. I am looking forward to next Sunday to begin teaching in the youth department, along with my husband and many other couples that have grown up in our church.

Finally, today was my first day back at school. It went GREAT! I am thankful to be at Deer Park, and thankful to be teaching seniors. Several of my students are ones that I have known for awhile, or I graduated with their older siblings. It's just sweet to come full circle with my church and now career- getting to attend at Deer Park and now be a teacher here. All five assistant principals have taught me in school at sometime. And people who are on my grade level team have all been teachers of mine- so it's very sweet and encouraging. God has blessed me so much!

As my day comes to an end, I am looking forward to all the new adventures/challenges that are in front of us. I am ready to work, and let the Lord lead so I can do my best through HIM. More and more I wouldn't trade my life for the world. At times I feel selfish for thinking such a thing, but it's my honest feeling-I couldn't think of a better life!

p.s. Next will be babies... and between the dreams everyone keeps having about us getting pregnant and my husband asking for one every time he sees a cute baby-That too might be sooner rather then later. But I will say that will HAVE to be the Lord :)

Sean's Haiti Trip

Recently, Central had a group go to Haiti on a mission trip. My brother, Sean, was able to go. I wanted to share some of the cool pictures he brought home... He said it was life changing, and now Stephen and I have started saving money to go next summer. I can hardly wait! Enjoy these pics... (I might add, I couldn't be more proud as a sister. Sean is a great young man who is willing to be used by the Lord and uses his gifts to serve the Lord.)
